General - Using the Ersie Cleaner
How does ultrasonic cleaning work? Ultrasonic cleaning uses high-frequency sound waves to loosen and lift debris from tiny crevices your toothbrush can’t reach. Just add water (and a cleaning tablet if desired), place your dental device inside, select a cycle, and let the unit do the work.
Can I use the cleaner without cleaning tablets? Yes — the cleaner works effectively with just water thanks to ultrasonic technology. Cleaning tablets can boost results especially when dealing with heavy buildup or stains.
How long does a cleaning cycle take? Typical cycles range from 5–10 minutes, depending on how deep a clean you want. Quick cycles are great for daily cleaning; longer cycles lift more stubborn residue.
Will ultrasonic cleaning damage my dental appliance? No — ultrasonic cleaning is a gentle, professional-grade method that is safe for most dental appliances when used as instructed. It removes residue more effectively than manual brushing alone.
Can I clean more than one item at once? It’s best to clean one device at a time to ensure optimal results. Items crowded into the chamber may receive uneven cleaning
What water temperature should I use? We recommend using cool or room-temperature tap water when running a cleaning cycle. Starting with hot water can cause the temperature to rise beyond levels recommended by some dental appliance manufacturers, which may increase the risk of warping or damage. Using cooler water helps keep your retainers and aligners safe while still achieving an effective clean.
Can I leave my retainer or aligner in the cleaner overnight? Yes — the cleaner can double as a temporary storage case for your dental appliance. However, for hygiene reasons, we suggest emptying the water after each cleaning cycle and placing your appliance back in the dry unit if you plan to leave it inside overnight. This helps prevent bacteria buildup and keeps your appliance fresh.
